From Port of Spain, Trinidad and various Haitian locales via Miami; New Orleans; and Chicago, Lord Mike's Dirty Calypsonians formed in 1961 under the name "The Pan-Carribbean Tropical Tiki Philharmonic Coconut Drinking Gorilla Orchestra," or PCTTPCDGO for short. 3 years later the Rocket Zombies of Voodoo Death Drum Squad was merged into the band, and the name Lord Mike's Dirty Calypsonians was adopted. The rest, as they say, is history...

This 12-piece orchestra mixes their love of feel-good Calypso with their love of hedonism in an outrageous, sexy, silly dance party of a live show. Drawing inspiration from Calypso greats like Mighty Sparrow and Lord Kitchener, Frontman Lord Mike croons, woos, and befouls the crowd as they dance to the irresistible Calypso classics, pop hit covers, and original material from the band. In true Frontman style, Lord Mike considers himself the heart and soul of the outfit even though the band knows that, without them, he'd be singing along with a boom box for change in the Jackson St. subway tunnel.

The Dirty Calypsonians, drawn from diverse musical backgrounds and brought together by a shared affinity for debauchery, are a group of experienced musicians including current and former members of The Sonnets, Deal's Gone Bad, The Drama, Situation Normal, The Business (of Chicago, not South London), and the Max Weinberg Seven. Preferring pseudonyms, the Dirty Calypsonians are: Hornies Dannyboy, Boo-boo, Kgus v3.14a, and Silky, guitarist Muldoon Muldoon, bassist Martin De La Guerra, keyboardist Diamond Fingers, kit drummer Flash Fitz, and percussionists Vee, Sweet “T", and Krazy Glue.

Lord Mike's Dirty Calypsonians have had the pleasure of performing with local favorites Deal's Gone Bad and the Drastics, 2-Tone Ska legends the Toasters, and international dancehall and reggae star Dr. Ring Ding
